Have you been wondering why so many people have begun to keep backyard chickens? Find out all about this ever growing passion in our community of Nampa at a free class on Tuesday, May 15th at 5:30pm at the Nampa Public Library!
Author, award-winning humor columnist and urban farmer, Gretchen Anderson, will introduce you to her latest passion . . . CHICKENS!
At this class you will find out why so many people are keeping hens, which breeds make best backyard hens, what type of coop is best for you, how to encourage egg production and how to keep baby chicks safe!

I need to say thank you to the many patrons who care so much about the library. Last Tuesday that brief, but intense, storm found a hole in our roof. Fortunately the dripping water was discovered in the very early stages. Patrons and staff worked together to move 710 books out of the way of the water. Most of the books are now back on the shelves where they belong, however, 5 or 6 were damaged beyond use.
