You are your child’s first and best teacher and the Nampa Public Library is here to support you in that role. The root of success in preparation for kindergarten is making time for quality caregiver and child interactions. Here you can find resources to support your preschooler’s development.
The Bookworm newsletter: The Idaho Commission for Libraries puts out a monthly two-page publication focusing on age-appropriate activities and early literacy practices that are fun and easy to follow for caregivers. You can view their archives or subscribe to the newsletter.

If you prefer to use an app to track their milestones, there’s an app for that! Download the free CDC’s Milestone Tracker App to check off your child’s milestones, for tips and activities, and signs to know when it’s time to “act early” and talk to your child’s doctor about developmental concerns.
Idaho AEYC: Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children offers tools to search for quality childcare that is Idaho STARS rated and additional educational resources for parents.

You can view current and past years winners. Why is singing, reading, writing, talking, and playing important for young children? Find out why here!
