Nampa Public Library trustees are appointed by the Mayor to five year terms. Appointments are confirmed by the Nampa City Council. Trustees are integral to the operations of the library. Board meetings are held at the library on the second Tuesday of the month at 4:00 pm. Victor Rodriguez serves as the City Council Representative to the library board. An agenda is posted on the public bulletin board at the library one week before the meeting. Meetings are subject to the Open Meeting law. Board meeting minutes are permanent records and are kept on file at the library. You may contact the trustees via email at info@nampalibrary.org.
Meet the Nampa Public Library Board of Trustees
Elizabeth Reisch, Chair, Term Ends 2027
Because of her love of books, Elizabeth has always been enthusiastic about the public library and the importance of access to information for all people. As a former business owner and NNU Foundation Board member, she is interested in the details of public library operation. She is grateful to be a part of this time of growth and refinement of the Nampa Public Library’s community presence.
Nick Smith, Vice-Chair, Term Ends 2025
Nick Smith (an ordained minister) and his wife are grateful to be living in Nampa as they raise four book-obsessed children. They try to spend as much time as possible in downtown Nampa (especially when food trucks are involved), cultivating a sense of place for their family and community. An avid reader and writer, Nick is eager to see the library grow as one of Nampa’s central “third places” — a place that is neither home nor work, a place for people to gather and for genuine community to be built.
Steve Kehoe, Term Ends 2024
Steve moved to Nampa when he retired in 2006 to live in a community similar to where he was raised. That is, one where you knew your neighbors and could take pride in where you called home. He has served the city as a volunteer on a variety of committees and commissions in the last fifteen years and as an avid reader wanted to assist the Library in any small way that he could.
Rich Williams, Term Ends 2026
Rich is a 3rd generation Nampa native. He has a deep interest in reading, learning, and helping others do the same. He has family in Idaho, Utah, and France that are voracious readers, and he especially enjoys using remote technology to read his favorite books to his grandkids. His background with Micron, Intel, and Apple give him additional insight and expertise that he will utilize to continue supporting existing library services, provide operational excellence, financial guidance, and innovate in preparation for future needs of Nampa residents.
Leslie Howard, Term Ends 2028
Leslie is an avid reader and believes libraries serve a much larger purpose than just checking out books. For some, it’s how they travel and see the world, some use the library for the learning programs that are offered, and for others, it’s a safe and comforting place. She has a desire to see the library thrive by advocating for her community and its constituents, promoting literacy, and assisting with strategic planning for the future all while helping protect something she is passionate about, books and reading.
