Beginning Saturday, June 1, and ending Wednesday, July 31, the Nampa Public Library invites community members of all ages to participate in the 2024 Summer Reading Program!
How to Participate
Youth ages 0 – 12: Visit the Nampa Public Library’s 1st Floor Info Desk in the children’s area to receive a youth reading log. This year we are encouraging youth to set their own reading goal of minutes read per day for 30 days. A common goal is reading for 20 minutes a day. The backside of the reading log features a just-for-fun bingo sheet with suggestions of activities that are related to this year’s theme, “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” After 30 days of reading for the desired number of minutes per day, bring your log back and visit the 1st Floor Info Desk to choose a book to keep! This program begins Saturday, June 1 and ends Wednesday, July 31.
Teens ages 13 – 17: Visit the Nampa Public Library’s 1st Floor Info Desk in the children’s area to receive a teen reading log. This year we are encouraging teens to set their own reading goal of minutes read per day for 30 days. A common goal is reading for 30 minutes a day. The backside of the reading log features a just-for-fun bingo sheet with suggestions of activities that are related to this year’s theme, “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” After 30 days of reading for the desired number of minutes per day, bring your reading log back and visit the 1st Floor Info Desk to choose a book to keep! This program begins Saturday, June 1 and ends Wednesday, July 31.
Adults ages 18+: Pick up an adult summer reading log at one of the information desks. Read or listen to as many books as you can during the program (a suggested goal is 5 books) and log the titles. Return your reading log to the Nampa Public Library’s 2nd Floor Info Desk to pick out your free book. There is an optional adult enrichment BINGO activity. Those who complete a blackout can submit an entry by July 31 for a prize drawing. The drawing will take place Thursday, August 1.
