Request an item for the collection

If the library does not own an item you would like to borrow, you may suggest it for purchase. Library staff review all requests based on community interest, availability, and collection needs.

Items typically considered

  • Books

  • New Releases

  • Popular Titles

Items usually not purchased

  • Textbooks

  • Out-of-print materials

  • Highly specialized academic materials

  • Items unavailable through standard vendors

Local Author Donations

Donate your work for consideration

Nampa Public Library welcomes submissions from local authors and creators. Eligible authors may donate one copy of their work for possible inclusion in the collection.

Complete the Local Author Submission Form

Bring one copy of your item to the library

Library staff review the material

4.

Selected items are cataloged and added to the collection

Authors may qualify if they:

  • Live in Canyon, Ada, Gem, Owyhee, or Payette counties

  • Have work based in Southwest Idaho
  • Have work significant to the State of Idaho

Submission guidelines

Materials must:
  • Be in new condition
  • Be physically durable and suitable for circulation
  • Be professionally bound
  • Be physical formats only
Authors may donate:
  • One copy per title
  • Up to three titles per year

Important things to know

  • Submission does not guarantee inclusion

  • Donated items become property of the library

  • Materials cannot be returned

  • Items not added may be repurposed according to library policy

  • The library cannot provide feedback or reviews

  • The library cannot promote or market submissions

  • The library cannot notify authors of final decisions
