As of October 1, 2019, the Nampa Public Library will no longer have overdue fines on most items! Interlibrary Loans and in-house use equipment will still have overdue fines.
Due dates and number of renewals will remain the same (see our Checkout Policy for more information).
FAQ:
If I had fines on my account from before October 1st, will I have to pay them?
No!
All fines accrued on your account from before October 1st will be forgiven as well!
Will fines for other libraries be waived?
It depends!
As members in the LYNX! Consortium, patrons of the Nampa Public Library have access to many items Nampa may not own. However, all items borrowed from another library are subject to the lending polices of the owning library.
If the owning library has a fines free policy, then their items will not accrue any fines. Currently, these are the libraries that are fine-free:
Boise Public Library
Caldwell Public Library
Eagle Public Library
Garden City Public Library
Hailey Public Library
Meridian Library District
Nampa Public Library
How will the library ensure the return of items if there are no overdue fines?
Items that are kept 10 days past their due date will be considered Lost and patrons will be charged for the replacement of the item plus a $5 processing fee.
This charge will be waived when the item is returned. However, once an item has been overdue for 100 days, that item is removed from our records and it belongs to the person who did not return it. That person must pay for item replacement plus processing fee.
Anyone with charges of $10 or more will have their library card privileges suspended from borrowing materials or using our public computers.
