Page DepartmentThe Page Department is staffed with a supervisor, seven part time and two full time staff. The principal function of the page staff is to sort and shelve books, music CD’s, movies and other materials accurately and quickly, which enable customers and staff to easily find books and other materials when they need them. Page staff perform the most labor intensive job in the library. Some of their duties include shelving, searching for missing items, emptying book drops, and maneuvering full book trucks to their reshelve areas. Because they are often shelving in the book stacks, customers often approach them for assistance, and page staff are happy to direct customers to the staff best able to answer their questions.
